My name is Peter. I am 19 years old. I am currently in the awaiting my discharge orders from the United States Navy. I originally joined the Navy to get away from myself, and it was in the Navy that I really found myself. The reason why I am awaiting discharge orders is because I told the Navy the truth, which is that I am gay. Our government feels that homosexuality is a good enough reason to get out. Yet, if we ever had to declare war, don't think that because you are gay, that means that you don't get drafted, because that is a whole different story.
