Here's the thing... dating sites always want you to write glowing reviews of yourself, and tout yourself as the newest, hottest thing on the market. I, however, am not new OR hot but I am pretty damn great... at least I like to think so. What do I want? I want to continue to be happy, and have someone to share it with. Being single is horrid. I don't NEED a man to complete me (never NEED a man... have him because you WANT him...), but it might be nice to have someone around to share things with. I want someone who is going to take care of me as much as I take care of them. I want someone who is willing to take part in my crazy schemes. I want a lover, a confidante, a partner in crime, a creative sounding board, and most importantly: a friend. I want someone to come home to at night, and someone to wake up next to in the morning. I value people who take themselves seriously, but know when to loosen up and have a good time. I value people whose work ethic is as strong as mine. I seek out people who are motivated and have a future. If you're perfectly content "getting by" and being average, chances are you aren't what I am looking for. Why be normal when you can be extraordinary? At 27, I have managed to have one of my plays published and performed, and earn awards for my work as a playwright and a costume designer. I have worked with a slew of professional and semi-professional theatre companies, but have found some of my most rewarding work in community and educational theatre. I have held positions with both non-profit and Fortune 500 companies. I don't mean to sound completely full of myself and conceited (and, yes, I know that is exactly how I sound), but this is the kind of work ethic I have. Work hard, work smart, work often. Ultimately, I want someone who wants to be the best they can be, and make a change in the world around them no matter how small that change may be. I have also found that on dating sites, the words "I want" are used a lot. My wants are many, but my needs few. Here's what I need: I need someone intelligent, someone understanding, and someone who will not expect me to change everything about myself to please them. I think I'm pretty great the way I am, and I'd like to stay that way. I'm a very creative person I work in a very creative field. Please have some sense of creativity and whimsy about you... it's what I thrive on. I have moments where I am incredibly high strung. Don't be thrown by them, they will pass. I am faulted and flawed like everyone else... you should be, too. If you're not, I have friends who would like to conduct studies on you. Ultimately, what I most want and need is someone who is willing to share their time with me. All we really have in this life is time.
